Rosewood Washington DC
Aesthetics: 7/10
Furnishings a little stuffy for my taste, but extra points for Bottega Veneta bath products.
Comfort: 9/10
Between the extra-comfy bed, the black-out drapes, and the large room size (the entry-level rooms top 350 square feet), I could have slept for days. I knocked off a point for no bathtub (you have to go up to a deluxe room to get a soaking tub).
Food: 7/10
Solid (I only ate breakfast here) but pricey. Breakfast ran ~$30/pp.
Bar: 8/10
Top-Notch atmosphere and cocktail selection. A bit smaller than one might ideally like.
Spa: N/A
In-room spa treatments available upon request.
Service: 10/10
Small staff, remembered preferences; friendly without being overly familiar or obsequious
Price Point:
$$$$
Worth Going Out Of Your Way For:
If you’re looking for an intimate high-end experience in DC and don’t mind Georgetown’s slightly out-of-the-way location, definitely.
Easily the best thing about the Rosewood Washington DC is the rooftop deck – shaded, with comfortable couches for lounging and café tables for working or drinks. There’s a small infinity pool tucked away on one side – far enough from the couches to provide privacy in both areas. Taking second place in What I Like About The Rosewood is Rye Bar…located off the lobby, the dark leather chairs and velvety sofas conjure up the illusion that you’re in a venerable old-school DC power bar. The friendly bartenders and mixed clientele (European tourists, business travelers, the occasional celeb) belie that, but it’s fun to imagine what secrets have been spilled in this room.
While You’re In The Area:
Check out a spin class at SoulCycle’s Georgetown location, load up on plant-based tacos at Chaia, grab a juice or smoothie at South Block Juice, and then reward yourself for all that righteousness with a cupcake from Baked & Wired (it is a pernicious lie that Georgetown Cupcake is the best cupcake in Georgetown…they’re good, but the cake-to-icing ratio pales in comparison to Baked & Wired).
Don’t Take Our Word For It:
“[O]ffers some of the capitol’s best accommodations, right in the heart of Georgetown,”
“luxurious Acqua di Parma toiletries in the dramatic marble baths are a perk.”
